Description
The course is aimed at those interested in working with patients with Personality Disorders (especially Borderline Personality Disorder, but also other Personality Disorders, with special emphasis on Narcissistic Personality Disorders).
While it may be beneficial for the student to have prior knowledge of psychodynamic theory, this is not necessary to begin learning TFP.
The course is designed for two types of students:
Those who wish to implement what they have learned into general clinical practice (whether in a private or hospital setting).
Those who wish to begin a training process to eventually apply for certification as a TFP psychotherapist endorsed by the ISTFP
General Objectives:
The course is aimed at those interested in the theory and treatment of Personality Disorders in general, as well as those interested in becoming certified psychotherapists by the ISTFP in Transfer-Focused Psychotherapy.
Attendees will learn and become familiar with the basic principles of Transfer-Focused Psychotherapy, through theoretical classes, videos and clinical examples of cases with prior informed written patient authorization or recommended sources with prior authorization from their original authors chosen by the faculty.
Reading the suggested manual in its entirety and optional texts is also recommended. At the end of the course, the student will be able to know how to evaluate personality organization, how to identify borderline personality organization based on an understanding of identity diffusion syndrome, identify its manifestations and derived problems, as well as basic knowledge in clinical practice of the technique
