Description

In this seminar, we will focus on the intermediate and advanced phases of therapy, allowing for a deeper exploration of the technical aspects of the interpretative process. The intermediate phase centers on an in-depth analysis of transference and object relations. During this stage, we will demonstrate how the patient begins to better accept the therapist and explore their defense mechanisms, dependency issues, aggression, and affect regulation. Characterized by alternating periods of progress and regression, sometimes even leading to negative therapeutic reactions, we will provide intervention strategies to help navigate these challenges. In the advanced phase, the patient becomes more emotionally autonomous and better regulates their behaviors. Object relations become more nuanced and integrated. The focus shifts to consolidating changes, processing the mourning of idealizations, and strengthening identity, enabling the patient to fully embrace their life choices. We will delve into this crucial phase, which prepares for the conclusion of treatment.
