Description

TFP is based on the understanding and focus on transference, a crucial tool for comprehending and transforming the patient’s relational dynamics. The goal of the therapy is to facilitate a reorganization of these complex dynamics to improve overall functioning. Personality disorders are understood through the lens of object relations theory. During the first two days of training, we will present the typical psychopathological characteristics of borderline personality organization and their relational implications, including therapeutic aspects. We will discuss concepts such as object-relational dyads, borderline organization, splitting, and transference dynamics. Additionally, we will explore how to conduct a psychodynamic diagnosis using the structural interview. We will also address the objectives of TFP and its differences from traditional psychodynamic therapy.
