INFORMATION | REGISTRATION

Description

The course is aimed at mental health professionals such as psychologists, psychiatrists and psychotherapists with experience of conducting psychotherapy who can see a patient or patients for TFP. Knowledge of psychoanalytic approaches is not required. The course will cover the theoretical and technical knowledge needed for this specialised psychotherapeutic treatment of patients with personality disorders, especially borderline personality disorder. Attendees will early in the course be encouraged to find a TFP supervisor and take on a patient, ideally in the first term. Two years of supervised practice is required as a requisite for accreditation as a TFP therapist. There will be an optional second year reading and consultation seminar. The course is designed so that a clinician with interest and commitment can become a competent TFP therapist.
